Oaten chaff is made by harvesting and drying an immature oat crop when grain is at the milky stage. Oaten chaff is normally used to bulk up other feeds to increase chewing, additional fibre and energy.
Feeding Advice
An average horse of around 16.1hh and in light to moderate work will need to eat 1.5-2% of its bodyweight in forage intake each day.
At least half of that should be in grass or hay or forage.
So our average horse (500kg) will need to eat about 10Kg forage per day to maintain condition.
